1 MILLION CIRCLES - WHITEPAPER V 0.3

Drawing 1 million circles, livestreamed for accountability.

A quantification of human effort, physically redeemable by destruction of the digital token.

Abstract

1 Million Circles is a performative art project that shines a light on artistic expression, manual labor, and the optimized virtual world designed to replace it.

One million circles will be drawn by hand over several months, mirrored by a cryptocurrency whose only purpose is to reflect the work, and facilitate the burn and redemption process.

100 blank sheets of paper will yield 100 unique pieces of art, each containing exactly 10,000 circles.
The paper can ultimately be cut and subdivided, each circle existing as its own individuated unit.

This should not be considered a financial investment, and neither should you expect any return of profit.

Rather, by burning the tokens and receiving the actual product, the artist hopes you will simply appreciate that which you can actually hold:

Enjoy the simple things in life, and frame these circles as a reminder of this current juncture between human effort, and computational automation.

Claim your physical circles by destroying the digital ones.

Conceptual Outline and Motivation

A circle is a plane figure bounded by one curved line, and such that all straight lines drawn from a certain point within it to the bounding line, are equal. The bounding line is called its circumference and the point, its center. - Euclid, Book 1, Elements

The circle is one of the most basic shapes that we can understand or create.  It is easy to imitate or recreate, and arguably boring to repeat.

The work derives meaning not from technical skill or the final product, but rather from the human endurance, concentration, attention, dedication, perseverance, and effort,.

This project is philosophical and simple by design. The act of drawing circles is intentionally basic, repetitive, and easily automated by a printer or 2D pen plotter machine.
The whole point is that an actual human being is sitting down and doing the job by hand.

The physical circles are the actual scarce material.

The original meaning of Proof-of-Work.

This ideally should evoke thoughts of the material and immaterial, automation, assembly lines, minimum wage vs commission, getting paid by the hour vs the job, time-clock punching, the gap between skilled/unskilled labor and its compensation, repetition as compliance, our bodies adapting to systems we were not designed for, tasks that must be done daily that nobody celebrates acknowledges or sees.

Consider the janitor, Sisyphus, and so many others, lost to history. Who built your house?

The only real way I hope to gain any personal profit or financial benefit from this project whatsoever, aside from a tiny fraction of trading volume through creator rewards (https://pump.fun/docs/fees), is through the Final Auction, which can only occur after completing the entire task.

I intentionally am not and will not be offering any type of NFT directly related to each circle or sheet for this project. I do believe NFTs ultimately can hold a valuable place in our society, but this is not that.

I may distribute NFTs to wallet addresses purely act as receipts that the user participated/burned, which may or may not have some benefit for future projects, but there will be no NFTs that correspond to each circle.

In my opinion, that would be a waste of time.

(Says the guy drawing 1 million circles)

Background (Kinda-sorta)

I have been involved somewhat in the crypto-sphere since around 2014, when I started gambling BTC and DOGE on random dice sites.

I don’t even want to think about where I’d be today if I just saved all that instead of pissing it away.
I started taking it kind of seriously in early 2020, and by the end of that year, I was a very early adopter of Polygon, where I made a lot of my first real connections in the space.
I learned quickly through various community admin positions that crypto is not for the faint of heart, after seeing unrelated people realize 1000x gains and others lose their life savings in the very same day.

Additionally, I have been drawing circles for over a decade, likely already having drawn over 1 million in my lifetime as an artist exploring this concentration.

Neither of these subjects are new to me, but this is the first time I have actively merged the two, or started any real project, especially one that blends the concepts.

I originally came up with the idea to draw 1 million circles live and tokenize it (and purchased this website domain) on June 19, 2025, exactly 7 months before finally completing v0.1 of this whitepaper. This can be confirmed by accessing the WHOIS database for this website and seeing when it was purchased.

To my sheer disappointment, I woke up the very next day on June 20, 2025 to see on the front page of pump.fun, a new coin was being featured, “Saying Pumpfun 1MIL Times Live”.

It was beyond disheartening to see this poor reflection of my own idea executed, so lacking in merit. I couldn’t believe the contrast between what I aimed to achieve, and what I saw before my eyes: a guy in his room, repeating a phrase mindlessly, engaging in useless insincere action.

Despite what I had hoped to accomplish; a massive task that would surely take months of perseverance, attention, and mental engagement, this guy was featured, applauded, praised, performing something 1 million times, yet so far from what I strived to achieve.

I was so disheartened that I turned my computer off and stayed away from all crypto efforts entirely, and knew I absolutely had to put the entire concept on hold for the foreseeable future, in order not to compare myself to such baseless and unproductive endeavors.

(Although you are certainly welcome to form your own opinion about what I’m doing here, lol).

Now, enough time has passed and the stars have aligned so to speak that I am finally ready to do what I originally conceived all those months ago, and provide an honest, unique, original, and meaningful product, through active effort and dedication, and further, a real desire to connect with other human beings across the world, by aiming to provide integrity, humor, rectitude and virtue within this otherwise admittedly dubious and questionable framework.

I aim to bridge the gap between this rapidly changing web3 environment, and the very human beings that are behind the screen, and being asked to adapt so quickly.

Thank you for reading my intentions here today, and hope that you are able to recognize my forethought, probity, and true ambitions with this project.

Thank you for your time and consideration,

Let’s fucking go!

Physical Execution

Time commitment: between 600-800 hours of active drawing + equal hours of social engagement, 5-6 days per week, roughly 8 hours per day.

You know, like a job?

The circles will be drawn on 100 sheets, 30x42 inches in size, each containing 10,000 hand drawn circles, the total equalling one million.

(Duh)

The only pen I will be using:
https://amzn.to/45gHbQH

All circles will obviously be drawn by hand, using the same type of pen and paper throughout the project, and furthermore, once completed, will be cut out by hand as well, and mailed by USPS.

Each sheet is beautiful, unique, and stands alone, but obviously is not necessarily a discrete physical object.
They will (unless completely redeemed) be fractionalized as distributed as such.

The individual circles themselves cannot be cut in half or subdivided in any way.

In order to prevent inevitable dreaded monotonous boredom, I have come up with a number of different methods of organization to keep things interesting for myself, while still ensuring that each sheet contains exactly 10,000 circles.

I have in the past drawn countless circles touching each other, to form rows composed of ‘kissing’ circles, which form unique visual patterns when viewed from a distance.

This is a possible scenario for many of the sheets, as I do not expect full redemption or burn of the total supply, but I will most likely draw almost all of the circles “stand-alone”, ie: not touching each other, as I expect many people to eventually only be able to secure very few for themselves, and it would not be right to cut a line of circles in half, or to distribute a piece of paper with ink at the far edges.

Aside from a standard grid and a few other means of polygonal arrangements, the main method I intend to use is by organizing the circles into triangular arrays, which I refer to affectionately as “Tridentities”.

This ensures much easier numerical and mathematical computation and understanding from a distance and far less likelihood for lapses in memory or tallying errors.

Most importantly, it means I won’t have to individually count all the way up to 10,000 and get stuck at some random number in the thousands, or to 100 over and over again in a simple 100x100 grid

(Although I will likely invariably draw interesting variations of a standard grid on occasion)

If you may indulge me for a moment,

Our homeboy Pythagoras would agree that a Tetractys, or a triangular arrangement of units with a side or base of 4,

T₄

is equal to 10 total units:

o

o o

o o o

o o o o

T₄ =  4 + 3 + 2 + 1

Therefore T₄ x 1000 (10 x 1000) = 10,000.

This can be expanded to countless other equations that total 10,000, here’s a few more notable examples:

T₉₉ + T₁₀₀ = 10,000

T₈₈ + T₇₈ + T₇₇ = 10,000

10(T₃₀ + T₂₅ + T₂₀)  = 10,000

25(T₁₉ + T₂₀) = 10,000

100(T₉ + T₁₀) = 10,000

Ad nauseum….

I’ve compiled several hundred possible aesthetic combinations of these “tridentities” to choose from that all equal exactly 10,000, but again, I may choose instead to use other polygonal number representations, like simple square grids, centered pentagonal / hexagonal arrays , or any combinations thereof.

It’s very possible I will try to make a few ‘representational’ pieces as well, but the vast majority will be nonrepresentational and likely regarded as ‘abstract art’.

This will hopefully ensure accurate totals without going brain-dead from counting up to a huge number and getting lost, or by counting to the same number over and over and over and over and over (and over) again, although I make absolutely no express guarantees as to my sanity by the end of this project (lol).

Tokenomics / Digital Representation

The digital tokenization of 1 Million Circles will be generated on pump.fun, hosted on the Solana blockchain.

This platform is being used primarily for its livestreaming capabilities.

Pump.fun only issues new coins in units of 1 billion, and I plan on drawing 1 million circles, therefore,

Starting Total Supply = 1,000,000,000 CIRCLES tokens

1000 CIRCLES (token) = 1 Physical Circle.

If I could have adjusted this easily to 1 million total supply, I surely would have, however at this time that is not currently possible on this platform in particular.

Furthermore, since, in my humble opinion, more than 99% of coins on pump.fun are fundamentally worthless, manipulated by trading bots or cabals, and/or frankly stupid, if a better platform did exist (currently there does not), it’s possible I may have launched this elsewhere.

Absolutely no disrespect to the pump team or the trenchers, just callin’ it like I sees it.

In the same token (lol), I do believe that pump.fun has the best up-front potential at the current moment for those content creators with the wherewithal and knowhow to take the leap, dive into this world, and swim through the sea of noise.

Pump.fun’s creator rewards platform currently far exceeds any other streaming platform’s offerings, especially for first-day creators, and I’m truly hoping to get more artists and creatives to think outside the box on ways to monetize their means of expression, and to not be afraid to tread in the murky waters where the sharks, whales, and fish know the gettin’s good.

It goes without saying I am in no way whatsoever connected to, have not spoken with, or prepared this project in collaboration with anyone at pump.fun, nor with anyone else who has ever created a token on this website.

All that aside, I am truly aiming to complete a legitimate project here, and I do appreciate the site’s functionality to both easily create tokens, and to effortlessly livestream on a coin’s behalf, regardless of the seemingly endless ocean of nonsense that is the current state of memecoins and crypto in general.

That being said, the $CIRCLES tokens themselves, no matter how valuable, will never compare in my opinion to their physical art counterparts.

This is the message.

Burn and Redemption Mechanics

Token holders may choose to redeem burned tokens for their physical circle counterparts within a clearly defined 24 hour window.

This process is an irreversible action, and entirely trustless. Redemption is completely optional and time-bound.

Failure to redeem in this time will result in the physical destruction of the corresponding circles through eventual burning by actual fire.

The redemption process is, as far as I could come up with, the fairest way for you to receive the end product, as I can not personally benefit from or gain any earnings from the burns themselves.

Therefore, the token burning is not symbolic. The paper containing the circles unless redeemed will otherwise be physically destroyed. I, the artist, can not personally profit from the burn process.

The burn functions as a trust anchor by an irreversible action, reducing total supply, and therefore hopefully increasing the demand (a guy can dream).

Each sheet will be numbered, signed, and posted at 1millioncircles.fun/gallery.

If you choose to burn some circles now and others later, before the final completion date, it is highly likely (although not guaranteed) that you will receive all your physical circles on one piece of paper.

For example: If you burn the equivalent of 7000 now and 3000 later, you will receive one full sheet. Likewise, 2500 now and 2500 later, will likely receive a single half-sheet, etc

If you are one of the elite few who are willing and able to redeem an entire sheet, yes, you can specifically choose which sheet you’d like for yourself. First dibs.

Legal Positioning and Disclaimers

I make no guarantees whatsoever about value, that's the entire point. I don't know what the token price will inevitably be and neither can you, the consumer.

There should be little expectation to sell the physical circles for gain in the future, although it may certainly be possible if the project is successful, I expressly do not guarantee any future profit or perceived value at any time. The tokens/drawings can not be considered a security, nor an investment contract, and certainly not a promise of future income. There is absolutely no promised yield, appreciation, dividend, or floor price.

Any secondary market activity that may occur is completely outside the control of the artist.

Participation should be motivated by appreciation for and engagement with the work itself rather than speculation, constituting acknowledgment that this is entirely an art project involving real labor, real effort, and real destruction.

In the event of unforeseen circumstances including force majeure or events beyond personal or reasonable control, the artist reserves the right to adapt to the situation while acting in good faith.
That being said, I will do everything in my power to draw 1 million circles.

Holdings

In the dev wallet, I immediately bought 12.11111….% of total supply, and immediately burned 1%, without redeeming, ensuring inevitable destruction of at least 1 sheet.

I hope this will prove to you all my dedication to the project and start a chain reaction of token burns and physical redemptions.

Immedately thereafter, I locked the 11.1111…% of held supply for a period of 4 months.

Over the course of the project, I have continued to buyback and lock supply, until I reach just shy of 20% of supply locked, to align with the 80:20 rule / Pareto principle.

If I have not completed the million circles by then, I will lock the remaining supply again in one week intervals until completion.

1% of supply (1 sheet) is reserved for me, as a reminder of my efforts to this project for the rest of my life, and afterwards bequeathed to a sole beneficiary.

10% or 10 sheets will be reserved for the final auction, to be held after completion at a future date.

The remaining 9 sheets will either burn indiscriminately or be distributed randomly via raffle to those who CLAIM/REDEEM their physical circles, to be decided solely at the artist’s discretion.

Moral Responsibility

Although I will burn, I vow to NEVER SELL any of these tokens on the dev wallet, and furthermore,

NEVER to personally trade/buy/sell these tokens for profit on any private wallet.

In this age of AI slop, distrust, BS, and uncertainty, I can only hope you believe me when I say I take this subject very seriously.  If I ever hope to maintain my integrity and succeed at completing this monumental task (or anything else in life for that matter): I need to be able to sleep at night.

I have been involved in crypto for too long and seen too many good people get completely rekt to ever have the disrespect or indecency to do anything nefarious regarding this project or any other.

I have absolutely zero intention or desire to “rug-pull”.

That shit is fucked up, plain and simple.

Risk and Commitment

It’s entirely possible the project may fail completely. Barring some bizarre unfortunate external circumstances, I’ll do everything in my power to ensure that does not happen.

If I must take a break for mental or personal reasons, I will do whatever it takes to resume as quickly as possible, and complete this project.

This is a culmination of my life's work so far, through this particular concentration as an artist, and I have absolutely no reason to disappoint myself, my family, friends, supporters, or community.

Failure is acknowledged as a real possibility, however this acknowledgment is a condition of honesty and fallibility rather than of weakness or any intent whatsoever.

Completion is a personal commitment grounded in my own dedication and upholding of responsibility, both as an artist and as a developer.

Project Phases

The project will progress through the following phases, and each phase will conclude only once its conditions are satisfied:

Drawing (~5 month projected timeline)

This includes the actual drawing of the circles via livestream in conjuction with your community engagement.

I will take photos of each sheet as they are completed and upload them one-by-one to the gallery page on 1millioncircles.fun and X.com.

I urge you all to participate by buying, burning, and promoting the project however you can.

Completion and final documentation (<2 month projected timeline)

1 million circles complete.

This includes a final photograph, likely by renting a gymnasium or otherwise large room and taking an overhead photo of all 1 million circles (100 sheets), arranged in a simple 10x10 grid. (25’ x 35’)

Also all 100 sheets will be displayed temporarily in at least one gallery, to be determined.
(Curators, hit me up)

Physical Burning and Redemption (<1 month projected timeline)

Once documentation and gallery shows have completed, all burned but otherwise unclaimed circles will be lit on fire, live on stream.

Shortly after that burn day, I will personally cut out each redeemed quantity of circles by hand, and all packages/mail will be subsequently sent out at my own expense.

I ensure that I will do everything in my power to keep your private information safe, and will furthermore delete all personal information once completed and sent.

I will continue to stream the physical burn of any unclaimed circles, likely on a weekly basis.

Final Auction (1 day)

By this point, at least 6 months from the start date will have passed, and the dev wallet will still hold at least 11% of the supply. I will burn and redeem exactly one full sheet for my personal collection, and the remaining 10 physical sheets containing 10,000 circles each will be burned onchain and subsequently auctioned off individually during a live auction, ideally in a setting where both in-person and online bidders are able to bid in the currency of their choosing.

Unless a major auction house like Christie’s or Sotheby’s wants to get involved (EMAIL ME)

I would ideally like to achieve this auction through a bid-to-earn GBM-style process, where everybody wins.

For more information, please visit gbm.auction

Exact terms are subject to change.

Zero Week/Completion (Timeline TBD)

At any point after the auction, once one full week (168 hours) passes with absolutely no burns whatsoever, I will publicly announce that we have officially entered what I am referring to as ZERO WEEK.

This begins the final period of exactly one additional week, where burning and claims will still be accepted, and physical circles still redeemable.

After the second 168 hours (zero week) has passed, all remaining physical circles will be destroyed by fire and the project (from my responsibility standpoint) will officially end.

I will not honor any burn claims after zero week, as there will be no physical circles left in my possession to distribute.

Again, after zero week, all remaining physical circles will be literally burned and gone forever.
Burn $CIRCLES and claim your actual circles or they will be destroyed.

This ensures that the project indeed has an end date and does not continue indefinitely.

After such time, I will be free to focus on future projects, ventures and creative endeavors, and I hope to see you there.

Conclusion

Conceptually, drawing 1 million circles is simple to understand on the surface, but near impossible to comprehend the quantity and magnitude fully.

Further, in this age of the dawn of LLMs, AI, and ease of automation,  for a real human to find the time, dedication, drive, willingness, and attention-span to sit down and complete such a daunting task is even more difficult to fathom.

I don’t ask you to believe in crypto, art, technology, myself, or any inevitable outcome.

I only ask that our time and effort be taken seriously.

Thank you x 1 million for your time, attention, love, patience and for reading this to the end.
Appreciate the simple things in life.

Stay round.
